MT/MR 2015 – Phillips

Each summer we help prepare new Mks, culturally, spiritually, and emotionally for the life that God is directing their families towards. It is always a highlight of the year. ISMK takes the oldest group (9-17 year olds) on a “survival” week. Each MK receives a hammock and a tarp for sleeping accomodations, and down by a river, they spend a week learning about surviving difficult experiences. They will learn how to navigate strange customs, unique cultures, embassies, border crossings, endless paperwork, and the frustrations of not understanding what is being said. The goal is for them to walk away from the summer understanding that things may be difficult, but (with God’s help) they will thrive in their new calling! This past summer we helped prepare 120 new Mks for life on the mission field, and had approximately 200 veteran Mks come through missionary renewal. God did amazing things in each of our programs!
