Hi MKs! My name is Sarah and I am the MK Office Coordinator. Here’s my story: I grew up in rural Illinois, but left when I was 18 for a two-year Missionary Associate assignment in Vienna, Austria. That experience really ignited my passion for missions and missionary families. I later went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.
I worked in the MK Office from 2005-2006, and then later returned in 2010 to work in the office full time. I love doing all of the graphic designs for ISMK as well as the event planning. I especially love when Bwana asks me to help at regional retreats. This gives me a chance to work with MKs right where they live! What could be better than that?
MKs are some of the coolest people in the world and I look forward to getting to know each of you. Please don’t hesitate to call, email, or look me up on Facebook if you have any questions or if you just want to chat!
Hello MK friends!
My name’s Matt, and I’m an MK from Honduras and Spain! I was born in Honduras and lived there until I was 11 years old, and then I moved to Madrid, Spain when I was 13 years old. After living in Spain I went to Evangel University and graduated in May 2017. Now I’m working on my master’s degree in International Community Development; I’m really excited about it!
I’m really really excited to be a part of the MK Office so I can meet even more of you and love you all! If there is ever anything I or the MK Office can do, let me know!
I absolutely love being an MK, and I hope you do too!
Greetings…I truly feel honored and consider it a blessing to serve as Executive Dean of Education for the office. I am a MK myself and am grateful to God for allowing me the opportunity to work with MKs. I was born in Texas but at age 5 moved to Costa Rica to serve with my family. I spent my childhood in Argentina and Mexico attending diverse educational institutions during my primary and secondary years. In 2002, I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and received my AA in Foreign Language and BA in Elementary Education. I am a certified classroom and Bilingual/ESL teacher. In 2010, I earned a postgraduate M.Ed. in School Counseling. I have served as a classroom teacher in a traditional and homeschool setting, worked with special needs kids as well as provided school counseling support in elementary, middle school and high school levels.
I have also served as ISMK office coordinator and volunteered as an educational consultant for the last 8 years. It has been a journey to get to this point, but the highlight has been where my passion and God’s gifting have collided. In this role, I have the privilege of overseeing our school as well as provide educational guidance and resources to our 1,500 MKs. My prayer is that you sense God’s presence in every academic decision you make. Blessings.
